About the Artwork

The Bohemian Palace is a hymn to the douceur de vivre in Provence — afternoons heavy with light, gardens overflowing with color, and interiors where the outside world quietly enters through an open window. Inspired by both Shefet’s memories of growing up in the South of France and her travels to Lisbon, these works dissolve the line between indoors and outdoors: hammocks sway under cascades of blossoms, peacocks step across tiled floors, and patterned fabrics become landscapes of their own.

Here, everyday life is elevated into reverie. It is not an imagined palace of marble and stone, but a palace built of sunlight, flowers, fabric, and play — a celebration of the poetic abundance hidden in domestic life.
