Self-Pity Party traces the five stages of a love story, from its bright beginnings to its inevitable dissolution. This final painting closes the cycle. The couple lies together, yet already apart: she leans into a partner rendered as a ghostlike presence, a fading silhouette.

The composition is deliberately bare, stripped of ornament and excess, as if love’s stage had been dismantled. What remains is fragile, intimate, almost silent — the moment when affection persists but connection has slipped away. It is not only an end, but also a portrait of tenderness dissolving into memory, of love turning into absence.
