About the Artwork

L’Artiste is a portrait of the artist not as an individual likeness, but as an idea — the figure of the creator suspended between reflection and vision. The figure looks back, inward, as if caught in a moment of self-doubt or contemplation. His body is made of color and matter, dissolving into the vibrant swirls that surround him.

The world here is not stable: it undulates in waves of pinks, greens, and oranges, transforming into pure movement and form. Part of the Opium Dream series, the painting captures the almost psychedelic sensation of inspiration — that fragile threshold where anxiety and transcendence coexist.
